Whether the design of the theater lighting is successful is based on whether the treatment of the stage lighting is appropriate. The stage lighting not only illuminates the actors but also allows the audience to see facial expressions, expressions, and movements. More importantly, it is to fully utilize lighting technology and mobilize lighting operations to enhance the artistic effect and make the audience feel immersive.


Stage lighting design principles

Stage lighting

1) General lighting: refers to the ceiling light and the extended stage as part of the ceiling light hanging light ring, as well as the illumination on the grape rack and over the bridge.

2) Key lighting: refers to surface light, slap light, column light, side light, foot light, flowing light and low-angle surface light of the extended stage, internal (outside) side light, turret flow light, and supply music light set in the music pool Low voltage socket.

3) Decorative lighting: refers to the daylight, the light and the laser effects used on the stage, the chasing light, the mobile music fountain and various computer lights.

Stage lighting control system structure module

1. Human Machine Interface Module

The function of the human-machine interface module is mainly to receive the control commands of the control personnel, which can generally be realized by a simple industrial control panel. After receiving the instruction, the module does not translate the instruction and directly transmits the key information to the main control module through the RS485 bus.

2. Master module

The main control unit is the core part of the entire lighting control system and is responsible for the connection between the upper control interface and the underlying hardware control module. After receiving the key information sent by the control module, the main control unit translates to form a binary control command; then the main control unit composes a complete frame of data according to the received command and the relevant control module address, and transmits it through the RS485 bus. On the downlink bus, each underlying control module obtains its own data by address matching.

3. The underlying control module

The underlying control module is a hardware device that directly controls the lighting of the stage. Since the number of stage lights is generally large, the number of control modules is generally between 10 and 20. All control modules are anchored on the same bus and programmed independently of each other. When the master sends data to the bus, all control modules receive the data information and parse out and execute its own instructions based on the address information contained in the frame structure.


The three modules communicate with each other using the RS485 bus to transmit data at a fixed baud rate. The main functions of the stage lighting control system control module are two aspects: one is communication with the main control unit and receives instructions from the upper layer. The second is to control the hardware circuit according to the instruction to control the lighting action.

For the complex traditional stage lighting system, due to the lighting of the characters and the stage set and the different required lighting patterns, the debugging of this aspect includes the color tone, color, color temperature, brightness, projection range, scene of the dimming station, sequence. The editing of the program and many other aspects are not simple debugging of general practical engineering. Just like the sound system, it also needs a lot of serious debugging to complete.
